WHO ARE WE?
Poochie Mama Dog Grooming is currently a small team of two groomers who are looking to expand to meet the demand for dog grooming in our area. We are a small boutique salon situated in Beaumaris offering personalised grooming services to our clients, and groom by appointment only.
When our clients and their pets come into the salon, they know that whoever greets them will be the one grooming their dog and will be responsible for all aspects of that process. This includes bathing, drying and grooming to breed standards or client wishes. This also means we only have two to four dogs in the salon space at any one time, and therefore, do not have to cage. There is a beautiful window seat for the dogs to sit in and watch the world go by, as they wait for pick up, or just be adored by delighted passers-by.
Poochie Mama’s is open Mon to Fri from 8.30am to whenever the last dog is done. Each groomer does up to 5 dogs a day – give or take, depending on size or complexity of the groom.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

A genuine passion for dog grooming

1 plus years’ experience bathing, drying and grooming to a variety of breed standards.

A grooming qualification is a plus, but not a requirement.

Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments with patience and compassion.

Confident enough to work alone as well as help the team out wherever and whenever necessary.

Friendly and possessing excellent customer services skills.

Physically fit

Ability to be flexible to meet changing work conditions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and preferences.

Bathing - Fluff drying - Grooming to breed standard or clients wishes.

Handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments with patience and compassion.

Maintain a clean and organised grooming area, including proper sanitation of tools and equipment.

Educate clients on proper at-home grooming and maintenance techniques.

Promote in-house retail products when necessary.

Work well within a team environment, be supportive and provide help to your team when needed.
